North West housebuilder, Taylor Wimpey, have generously donated £500 to Widnes Foodbank.

The funds will be used by Widnes Foodbank to equip and decorate our new foodbank centre, Crossing Point.

The news comes as latest figures reveal more than 86,000 meals have been provided by the foodbank since its setup in 2012.

Widnes Foodbank Project Co-ordinator, Clare Bedford, said;

“The money will help us to buy new storage units to hold food generously donated by the local community and give the centre a fresh coat of paint to make it a more inviting place for foodbank clients.

“On behalf of everybody at Widnes Foodbank, a big thanks to the Taylor Wimpey team for its generosity. It means so much to so many people.”

Stuart Craig, sales manager at Taylor Wimpey North West, said: “The work that everybody does at Widnes Foodbank to support those in need within its community is something we champion.

“We are continually looking to support the great work of teams and individuals in the areas in which we build.

“We’re delighted to have donated £500 and that the money will be put to such good use.”
